Went on a 17 hour session before leaving California for Oklahoma and South Carolina. The couple of things I learned about long sessions...
I can only last about 4 hours with small breaks (5 min) before I need on long one for about 20 minutes or so.
For some reason when I am $200 down, I can play great poker to get back to even, then I go stupid or loose my aggression. I have termed this failing to break the sound barrier.
When you have a stack bigger then everyone elses, sit back and enjoy not playing. Be patient and pick you hands strategically to beat other players. You will always loose less to paying 10 blinds and seeing 90 hands ($40 in 3-6 limit) times, then loosing $18 or more with raises in two or three hands.
All in all, it was a great night of fun and suspense. Hopefully this will turn profitable sooner than later. I have a few months to play in Oklahoma at the No Limit tables. I am sworn off Limit games, it is too hard to climb out of a hole once it is dug. Plus, No Limit allows you to use more tools to win hands than in limit.
